TRCS Virtual Learning Offering: Lincoln Learning

While this year may seem to be a challenge in the educational world,  we are excited to offer a virtual option, Lincoln Learning,  for families who wish to do school at home.  Lincoln Learning is a PK-12th grade program offering standards aligned content while monitoring student progress and mastery.  Below are helpful videos for more info about the Lincoln Learning experience  at different grade levels. 

Course Enrollment and Expectations

  • All students will be enrolled in 4 core classes and 2 electives 
  • Each course has daily lessons
    • 6 lessons per day x 5 days per week = 30 lessons per week
    • 35-60 minutes per course for each day - length of time depends on grade and course

Student Expectations 

  • Adhere to the code of conduct of Three Rivers Community Schools.
  • Read and acknowledge the Three Rivers Community Acceptable Use Policy regarding technology and internet. 
  • Establish daily routines for engaging in remote learning (follow daily school schedule).
  • Identify a comfortable, quiet space where you can work effectively and successfully.
  • Regularly monitor progress, check daily announcements, attend daily online sessions, check for teacher feedback of assignments.
  • Maintain regular attendance. 
  • Complete assignments with integrity and academic honesty, doing your best work, and giving meaningful effort.
  • Meeting timelines, commitments, and due dates.
  • Ongoing communication with teacher(s), including if you need additional support.
  • Seek help as needed by discussing needs with TRCS mentor. 
  • Collaborate with peers in learning. 
  • Communicate with families and mentor.
  • Participate in district wide required assessments, in person. 

Family Expectations 

Families, because you have formally offered your support of this virtual learning setting, we would like you to: 

  • Ensure your student has the necessary equipment to participate in virtual learning. 
  • Establish routines and expectations.
  • Define the physical space for your child’s study sufficient time in his/her daily schedule to work each day on courses. 
  • Ensure that your student has sufficient time in his/his schedule to work on courses daily. 
  • Monitor communications from your child’s mentor.
  • Begin and end each day with a check-in with your student.
  • Take an active role in helping your child process and own their learning.
  • Communicate academic progress and concerns with TRCS mentor.
  • Be aware of all course due dates and pacing guides. 
  • Encourage your student to seek help when stuck or frustrated. 
  • Encourage physical activity and/or exercise.
  • Remain mindful of your child’s stress or worry.

School Expectations

  • A TRCS school mentor will:
    • Have two way communication/interaction at least twice a week with students and families.  Weeks are set as Wednesday through Tuesday.
    • Develop an educational development plan for virtual students. 
    • Monitor student pacing, enter attendance and grades in PowerSchool.
    • Provide social emotional support, and keep families connected as the school liaison. 
  • TRCS will provide devices for students who are in need.
  • TRCS will provide tutoring opportunities with a certified teacher for students who need additional content support. 
  • If the student has an active 504 Plan or IEP, the district will continue to implement accommodations and modifications. 
  • The school will communicate schedules for all district wide assessments required to be taken by the student.
