TRHS Student Memo: Week of September 13, 2021
I hope you had a great weekend! Here is your student memo for the week of September 13, 2021.
HOMECOMING: The Homecoming football games is Friday, October 8 at 7pm. Don't forget that there is a parade at 5:30pm that evening. Homecoming week is always a fun week at Three Rivers High School! Make sure you participate and show your Wildcat spirit! Dress up days will be....
Monday- Monochrome
Tuesday- Holidays
Wednesday- Future career occupations
Thursday- Animal print
Friday- Purple out
MAKE-UP/RETAKE PICTURE DAY: If you missed picture day last week, no worries! We will have retakes/make-up on Tuesday, October 12. If you lost your form, please see Mrs. Ellis in the main office.
CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: The front entrance and main office are still under construction. We are hoping to be in our new space this week! In the meantime, thank you for your patience! Also, the new state-of-the-art weight room should be completed by December.
RESPECT RESPONSIBILITY RESILIENCE: You continue to do an amazing job making Three Rivers HS a friendly, welcoming and safe place. This week, I would like to ask students to do me a favor. We have over 60 new students this year. If you see someone sitting by themselves at lunch or lost in the hallways, help them out. Sit by them, introduce yourself and get to know them. Help them find their classrooms. We rise by lifting others. Be the change you wish to see in the world.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: The "Melting Mann Race" is in need of volunteers. Melting Mann is a Dirt Road Challenge for Mountain Bike, Fat Bike and Cycle Cross Bikes of all skill levels that takes place in Newberg, Penn, and Marcellus Townships in Cass County on Saturday, September 18th. You would need transportation to and from Vandalia and transportation to getting to the assigned corner to direct racers in the right direction. Volunteers will most likely be working in pairs. If you'd like to help out, email Gabby at gcharvat56@trschools.org.
STANDARDIZED TESTING AVAILABLE: The Michigan Department of Education has decided to offer the PSAT and SAT tests many of you took last spring again this fall. You are NOT required to take these fall tests, but they have been made available to students who were unable to test last spring, or those students who would like to retake last spring's test. Any students interested in taking (or retaking) the PSAT or the SAT must sign up by this Wednesday! The sign-up sheet is in the Media Center. If you have questions, please email Mr. Presdorf (spresdorf@trschools.org).
KEEP OUR SCHOOL SAFE: Are you aware of an unsafe situation in our school? Did you witness bullying and have the courage to do something about it? Do you have a friend you're worried about who needs some mental health support? Contact OK2Say -- it is a confidential tip line (text/call/email). Whatever you report to OK2Say comes directly to ME! Ok2Say will NOT share your name or contact information. They will provide me with the information you have shared -- that's it.
That's all for now! See you tomorrow, Wildcats!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Balk
HS Principal
