March 13, 2020
Dear TRCS Staff, Students and Families:
Last night, Governor Gretchen Whitmer and State Superintendent Michael Rice announced the closure of all Michigan K-12 school buildings, public, private and boarding, starting Monday, March 16 through Sunday, April 5.
We are still working through the details of this announcement. We will continue to communicate with staff and families through our school messaging system, website and social media as more information is available.
Due to the directive to close our schools (March 16th – April 5th, 2020) there are numerous questions that need to be answered. I have just finished meeting with our District Leadership Team to discuss a number of questions we have been presented with. One question we have addressed is: Will we be providing breakfast and lunch to our students during the shutdown period? We will be providing breakfast and lunch to all of our students. These meals will be in a “grab-n-go” package. The sites for meal pick-up will be at: Three Rivers High School, Hoppin Elementary, and Andrews Elementary. Times for pick-up (both breakfast and lunch) will be 9 am-11 am; Monday – Friday.
I realize the closure has created a number of challenges for all of us. These closures were necessary in order to minimize the risk of exposure to our students, staff, and families. There are a number of issues we are working on today, and I will have additional information to share by the end of school today.
All of us can continue to practice the following preventative measures:
-
Wash your hands often with soap and warm water for 20 seconds. If not available, use hand sanitizer.
-
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, mouth with unwashed hands.
-
Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue paper or upper sleeve when coughing or sneezing.
-
Avoid contact with people who are sick.
-
If you are sick, stay home, and avoid contact with others.
Sincerely,
Ron Moag - Superintendent
