Welcome Back Wildcat Families!

Three Rivers Community Schools
Office of the Superintendent

Hello Wildcat Families:

On behalf of our entire staff, I would like to extend a warm welcome to you as we prepare to begin the new school year. We are incredibly excited to welcome both new and returning students to our classrooms and are committed to providing a positive, inspiring, and safe learning environment for everyone.

The safety and security of our students and staff remains our top priority. As we embark on a new year of growth and learning, please know that we are continually working to ensure our schools are places where everyone can thrive.

We are also excited to share that we have a new district website platform! You can visit us online at www.trschools.org to find the latest news, events, and resources. We believe this new site will be a valuable tool for staying connected and informed throughout the year.

This year, we continue to focus on our district mission statement: The mission of Three Rivers Community Schools is to educate, motivate, and inspire all students to reach their full potential, to become successful adults and to pursue their dreams. To support this mission, we continue to build upon the key life skills that we believe are essential for success, both inside and outside the classroom. These skills are: effective communicator, self directed-learner, critical thinker, socially responsible citizen, growth mindset, character, creativity, and collaborator/team player.

Kickoff to the new school year begins with Back to School Open Houses held on August 18th.

  • Middle and High School - 4:30-6:00

  • Elementaries - 5:00-6:30

The 2025-2026 school year begins Tuesday, August 19th with a half day for both students and staff. This year’s academic calendar can be found at www.trschools.org

I am truly honored to serve as your Superintendent and look forward to the collective achievements we will accomplish in the days and months ahead. I can't wait to see the remarkable growth and success that await us.  Here is to a great 2025-2026 school year!

Yours in Education,

Nikki Nash

Public Notice: Notice of TRCS Board of Education Vacancy

NOTICE OF TRCS BOARD OF EDUCATION VACANCY

Three Rivers Community School District is seeking a Partial Term Board Member for a vacant position on the Board of Education. As required by Election Code MCL 168.311, a school board has 30 days to fill a vacant position. An individual will be appointed to fill the vacant position until the November 2026 elections have been held and certified and a newly elected individual has been sworn-in to fill the remainder of this position's term.

Any registered voter who resides within the Three Rivers Community School District is eligible to apply. An applicant must be at least 18 years of age, a citizen of the United States; a resident of the state of Michigan for at least 30 days and a resident of the school district. The Michigan Election law, MCL 168.11, defines the term “residence” as: “A place at which a person habitually sleeps, keeps his or her personal effects, and has a regular place of lodging. If a person has more than one residence, or if a wife has a residence separate from that of the husband, that place at which the person resides the greater part of the time shall be his or her official residence for the purposes of this Act.” Thus, even though a candidate may still be a registered voter in a school district and the candidate’s drivers license includes a school district address, he or she could still fail to satisfy this definition.

Interested persons must submit a letter expressing interest in the board position and their qualifications for the position to the district office no later than 3 p.m. on August 15, 2025. Letters may be emailed to lcamino@trschools.org or mailed to the attention of the Board of Education at 851 Sixth Avenue, Three Rivers, MI 49093.

Following a review of the submitted materials, the board will hold interviews with selected candidates on Monday, August 18, 2025.

If you have questions concerning the role of the Board of Education and the responsibilities of a board member, please contact Erin Nowak, Board of Education President, by email at enowak@trschools.org or by phone at 269.279.1100.
