Three Rivers High School will grant credit to high school students not enrolled in courses who exhibit reasonable level of mastery – 78% or better on comprehensive exam – in those courses. Credits will be awarded on a “pass” basis and will not be included in G.P.A. Credit will count toward fulfillment of subject area and course sequence requirements. Once credit has been earned by “testing out”, students may not subsequently receive credit for a sequentially lowers course in the same subject area with the exception of students who took Algebra I in Middle School.
Students interested in testing out of high school courses must follow the guidelines listed below:
Step 1: Sign up for qualifying classes by May 15 for First Semester and December 15 for Second Semester.
Step 2 (OPTIONAL): Review National and State Course Content Expectations to gain an understanding of information in which you’ll be expected to demonstrate mastery.
SUGGESTED SITES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
SCIENCE AND SOCIAL STUDIES – STATE OF MICHIGAN CONTENT STANDARDS
MATH AND ELA – COMMON CORE STATE STANDARDS
